CIN - National Identification Code for Italian Properties

The Ministry of Tourism has introduced a regulation to promote fairness and transparency in Italy's short-term rental market. As part of Decreto Anticipi No. 145/2023, all non-hotel accommodation providers, including holiday rentals, are required to obtain a National Identification Code (CIN).

What is CIN?

CIN is a National Identification Code that uniquely identifies your rental property in Italy's official tourist accommodation database. It demonstrates that your property is registered and compliant with Italian tourism regulations.

Key Deadlines and Requirements

The law went into effect on November 2, 2024. All rental properties should have obtained their CIN by January 1, 2025. If you haven't completed this process, we recommend applying immediately to ensure your listing remains compliant.

How to Obtain Your CIN

Apply for your CIN through the Ministry of Tourism's online platform, Banca Dati Strutture Ricettive (BDSR). Once you receive your code, you must display it outside your property and include it in all rental listings, both online and offline.

Safety Requirements for Your Rental

Along with obtaining your CIN, certain safety measures are mandatory for all tourist rentals:

• Combustible gas and carbon monoxide detectors must be installed
