Can I delete a review left by a guest?
Reviews are valuable feedback that help you improve your hosting experience. However, if you believe a review violates our platform's guidelines, you may request its removal. Here's what you need to know.
When can a review be deleted?
A review can only be removed if it violates the terms and conditions of the platform where it was posted. Violations include:
- Offensive or inappropriate language
- Discrimination or hate speech
- Content unrelated to the guest's stay
- Privacy violations (sharing personal details)
- Fraudulent or factually inaccurate statements
Please note: Negative feedback, critical opinions, or constructive criticism do not qualify for deletion unless they breach specific guidelines.
How to request a review deletion
Step 1: Review platform guidelines
Familiarize yourself with the terms of the platform where the review was posted:
- Airbnb review guidelines
- Booking.com terms and conditions
- Booking.com review removal process
- VRBO content guidelines
Step 2: Assess the violation
Determine if the review violates platform guidelines. Take screenshots or notes as evidence to support your claim.
Step 3: Submit your request
Contact Holidu support with the booking number and a detailed explanation of why the review violates the platform's terms and conditions.
Step 4: Await response
Our team will review your request and coordinate with the relevant platform. Please note that the final decision belongs to the platform itself, not Holidu.
Making the most of guest reviews
Even if a review cannot be removed, use the feedback constructively. Consider addressing any issues raised and responding professionally to reviews. This demonstrates your commitment to excellent service and can enhance your reputation with potential guests.
